I've come a long way from my first year in IB Art. Right now I'm sitting waiting to go in for my final exam and talk about my work and all of it's connections. It seems intense, but I'm not nervous.
For the exam I chose to focus more on some of my edgier and more contradictory pieces. With influences such as Banksy or Shepherd Ferry and connections to my the not so great side of my culture in Ohio.
I've taken a liking to making pieces about addictions and the horrible effects it has on the individuals and the even worse effect on their families. Also I really enjoy connecting a work to a song and actually writing lyrics on the painting and having them as an element of the composition.
All of my works are mostly from this year and closer to the end of last year. The exceptions are my first two paintings, to show improvement.
I want to score a point higher because of this presentation, so I hope that I impress my examiner with my connections, improvement, and ideas.
