If you can't tell, this painting "When Fantasy meets Reality" is a sequel to my previous post, the photo montague, "Toxic Inanimate Fantasy"
What happened? The mountain came falling down! In the midst of falling her sunglasses fell off, revealing how much she's blinded herself by choosing a material soul over a real one and life. She's blindly trying to reach for them and find them as she hits the water. (I had wayyy too much fun with the swirling brush technique for the ocean. It was awesome)
This painting was supposed to be based off the style of a linocut artist. After a while of googling and trying to find the right style, I found Sybil Andrews and fell in love with his style.
(view a large selection of his work http://www.artnet.com/artist/1524/sybil-andrews.html )
Hopefully you can tell I did the waves in his style, though it wasn't easy, it turned out looking great and my trusty paint pen made it a little easier.
Love the texture of the water in this piece!
